Monday - Friday 8:00 - 3:30

Who Can Use the Health Center?

  • Any student in a school where a health center is located may register to use the center. 
  • Services available at no cost and no health insurance is required.
  • Note:  Students under age 18 must submit a consent form signed by parent/guardian.

What is the MSHP About?

  • Taking care of sick students so they can stay in school
  • Helping students lean responsibility for their own care
  • Teaching students to stay healthy
  • Communicating with students' providers (clinics/doctors/nurses) about their health care needs
  • Creating a healthier school and community environment

MSHP Health Team...

  • MSHP employs nurse practitioners, LPNs, physicians, psychologists, social workers, dental professionals, clerical staff and community health promoters
  • All health centers have a full-time doctor or nurse practitioner, mental health  provider (licensed psychologist or licensed social worker), and LPN

The Montefiore School Health Program (MSHP) has provided on-site clinical services  to Bronx school children since 1983. Through the years, the program has transformed from an acute, episodic care model to a comprehensive care model that includes medical, mental health, dental, and community health services. Today, MSHP is the largest comprehensive school-based health program in the nation serving over 20,000 registered students in 21 school-based centers.
